MySpace steps up video aspirations in a big way

Published by Nate under Business, Video, Consumer, Technology

Still on my road show trip for work, currently stationed in wonderful Sydney.  Besides being a beautiful city it also holds the distinction of being right in Mr. Murdochs locale for wheelin and dealin.

I was reading through The Daily Telegraph at breakfast that is delivered free to me each day here at the hotel and came across a tiny little article that was pretty interesting.

MySpace Australia launched an online television channel with broadcasting a concert of Death Cab For Cutie.

MySpace has teamed up with BBC and others to bring original content to the Australian market.  They are also including content from Channel V.., one of the big pay for cable networks down here.

This is a very nice move for them and will be interesting to see what moves they try to make back in North America.  Media works a bit diferent down here so I dont forsee this happening right away but will eventually happen in some capacity.

Testing out the new Sanyo…,

Published by Nate under Travel

So last minute before the trip I took the plunge and picked up the new Sanyo Xacti 1010 mini HD cam.  First impressions.., fantastic.

This this has been great.  It supports still that can be set for up to 8 megapixel…, I have mostly been forgoing on the stills instead choosing to take a TON of mini video snaps…, below are two examples:

Here is one of my buddy Doug who is petting a Red Kangaroo:

This one is of a tiger swimming testing out the slow motion recording at 300 fps:

A lot more vids to come.., I have snapped 400+ clips so far with this thing and the trip is just half over.

Hackday Is Coming…

Published by Nate under Open Source, CodeMonkey, Technology

Been MIA for a while now, been on the road again.., slew of updates coming in the next few weeks though I promise.., a quick note regarding Yahoo! Hack Day.

That is right.., Yahoo! is holding another public hackday at HQ in Sunnyvale.  I was lucky enough to attend the first event that was a fantastic experience between the sessions during the day, the exposure to all tihngs Yahoo!, and of course the Beck concert didnt hurt either.

Really excited for this one, I have been working with a couple of friends on some fun browser based tools.  We are getting  close to a beta of the service and will be doing some flickr integration for our hack.

As usual, I will probably do some posting from the event when I need a break from the coding,

If you are a interested hacker or follower of tech space, sign up and attend here:
